Work and Play

We've been very busy trying to get the house and yard in better condition. Our list of to do's keeps growing and growing. But we have a good start. I'll have to post some before and after pics once we get some "afters" completed. Right now we have a lot of "in the process of" pictures. This is Jake, my dad (Lonnie), and Mason clearing some branches.

And next is Rita helping me clean up the walk way. In this photo we have already set the walking stones in, but haven't started on the brick dividers.

And while we've been working hard (with lots of help, we couldn't have gotten much done without tons of help and equipment from family), we have also taken some time to play. First we have Logan with on of the catfish that he and Daddy caught,

and then we have some photos from our bonfire.

This is a cute picture of Daddy and Colton relaxing on the deck with their drinks of choice, Daddy with his 'dew and Colton with his bottle!

Good-byes

We're excited to move to St.Joe, be closer to family, and make new friends, but we are definitely going to miss all of our friends in Columbia. We had a couple of get togethers and play dates to say good-bye to some friends. First we have Colton and William posing for the camera!

And here are Mason, Ethan, and Baily enjoying the tire swing at Mason's last play date in Columbia!

SOLD!

We are happy to say that our house has sold after 37 days of being on the market. We didn't know it at the time, but it turns out that the buyers were also LDS and residents. So they have moved into our old ward, pretty cool. I hope that they enjoy our home, we really enjoyed all of our time there and are going to miss Columbia and all of our friends.

Hangin' out in Saint Joe

Craig and Janet flew into Kansas City, so we went up to our new house for the day since they hadn't had a chance to see it yet. Here are some fun outside pics.

Family Time

It was so great having everyone together. After church we enjoyed visiting and sampling all of Nana's great food!

Logan was asking Jake how to catch a Jack-a-lope. He is hoping to be able to go hunting for one at our new house!Aunt Rita and Grandpa feeding Colton.Grandpa Craig (or Uncle Craig as Mason kept saying to tease him, yes he has the Christian teasing gene) giving Mason a ride.Grandma Janet cuddling with Colton and getting him to sleep.

Mason with Aunt Jessica, whom he is always saying he is going to marry. I'm not sure why he is pouting in this picture.

Colton's Baby Blessing

Jacob blessed Colton April 26th, 2009. Grandpa Craig and Grandma Janet flew in from Richland, Washington for the special day. And Grandpa Lonnie, Nana, Aunt Rita, Uncle Mark, Aunt Jessica, and Uncle Mitch (and their dog Ike) drove down from Nebraska. Colton is so lucky to have such a great extended family that is willing to travel to support him! Jake was a little distracted during the blessing because Colton was so quiet and content. He wasn't used to that as Logan and Mason screamed and cried through their entire baby blessings! The blessing outfit that Colton wore is the same outfit that Jacob wore to his baby blessing 33 1/2 years ago! Logan and Mason got to wear it as well. Craig, Shelly with Colton, Jake, Janet, Mason and LoganBack row: Jessica, Mitch, Mark. Middle row: Jake, Shelly with Colton, Rita, Penny, Lonnie. Happy Mother's Day!

Most of Mother's Day was taken up driving to St. Joe and back again. We had forgotten some important paperwork that Jake needed for his job. But it was nice to have the family together and to have some time to visit with Jake. Here are some pics of the beautiful gifts that Logan made me! Homemade gifts are the best!!!
